On my last full day in Wyoming I went snowshoeing to a row of barns out in Grand Teton National Park that are pretty famous for photographers because they've got that old/run down character and the fantastic backdrop of the Grand Tetons. It was a sunny but cold day, with only a few clouds around, so i thought the pictures would look good in B&W. Here are some favorites:

So apparently there are some out there who seem to think that people should sit quietly and listen when at a rock show. As a service to the public, I'd like to correct that misguided notion.

A rock show, especially a U2 show, is not a recital, nor is it meant to be a reproduction of the studio album. If you were to tell U2 that you believed that the ideal concert would be one where everyone sat down and listened quietly, they'd laugh at you....

I am no longer single.

I just got back today from 4 days in LA for my aunt's funeral. I'm exhausted. Physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally. The service itself was tough to get through. Playing piano while my sister sang In My Life (with all of 2 minutes practice time) was tough. Watching my uncle and niece grieve together was almost unbearable. Watching my mom and grandma grieve was as well. Seeing the casket for the first time was almost too much.

I just got off the phone with my sister. Our aunt, who has long been struggling with the advanced stages of diabetes, but had been doing better recently, passed away today. She'd been confined to a wheelchair for some time, had had circulation issues and had been in the hospital for a few months last year, but recently she seemed a lot stronger - was able to take care of clothing and personal needs on her own, and was in better spirits, too. I was in a training session all day yesterday with a few other managers, hosted by our HR Manager. She's really, really good at her job, very smart, very engaging, but she was driving me bonkers. Why?
