I'M GOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of my friends scored a pair during yesterday's pre-sale, but the gal she's going with also got a pair, so they're gonna sell a pair to me!

They're at one of the tables in the 4th row from the stage.

I guess Ernie and I won't be seeing Ryan Adams. Tickets literally sold out in mere minutes. I was on there immediately and couldn't come up with anything. The venue confirmed that they are sold out.

I'm crushed. I don't even know what to say.

I'm so excited that Ryan's playing a show in Michigan!! It's been about 3 and a half years since he was last here. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, I will be purchasing tickets as soon as they go on sale. In our two and a half years, this will be the first concert Ernie and I go to together. It's about time!

Mom had given her 3 weeks notice at her job (yeah, they require 3), but they continued to be even more horrible to her, so she just quit. In a few weeks, she will be moving back to Michigan, back with my dad (I only live about an hour and a half from there). She's lived in Maryland for the past 5 years. She wants us to spend lots of time together, and she wants me to help her update her resume and find a part-time job, or maybe even just somewhere to volunteer at.

The weekend was dreary and rainy. Our road is dirt and gravel, so it was a bit of a muddy mess. No good for walking. I didn't feel like I should stay trapped in the house, so I decided to go to the mall.

On my way, I stopped at a gas station. Before I lived here, I used to stop there for a newspaper before I'd hit the freeway and head back home after visiting. I went in to grab my usual Sunday papers. I felt awkward and out of place, further enhanced by having it feel like...

Who knew that cat urns were so expensive???? I sure didn't. I feel guilty because of course Whiskers is worth it...but I just don't have a whole ton of money to spend. I figured I would spend a maximum of $50, but I can barely even find any for that price, let alone any I like.

Ernie and I took Friday off from work and took the fifth wheel up to a state park. Since we've been together, we've only gone camping once each year, with a whole bunch of people on a couple's property. This was the first time either of us has ever gone camping with just one other person.

In prepping the fifth wheel, Ernie discovered a bird's nest in the kingpin...and there were baby birds in it!!! Ernie decided the best option was to move the nest as carefully as possible...

Allow me to preface this by saying I am having a pity party for myself. I realize that I am a very fortunate person who has a lot in my life, but I just feel like venting.

One of the service guys that Ernie works with looked at my car's A/C. So much for a free fix. I need a new condenser. That's $160. Plus, I MIGHT need a new compressor. They couldn't tell without ripping apart the car, and if they don't even have a condenser to put in yet, there was no sense in dismantling...

I guess during one of my rambling conversations where I mentioned how I'd like to get a kite that he was actually paying attention.

My student loan is officially paid off. I thought I'd be jumping up and down and dancing (horribly) when this day came, but it's been a fairly somber week. I really am excited though. I'm just still in kind of a funk over Whiskers. I went to Petsmart earlier today and looked at cats. There was this adorable one named Lucas. If I was living alone and could afford to, I would have adopted him in a heartbeat. What a sweetheart. I got tears in my eyes while I was walking away.

I've been feeling so sick this morning. I think the entire week has just kind of caught up with me completely. I've been depressed and not sleeping well. I was going to take the day off from work, but decided to try going in. If anything, I can leave early and take a half day off.

Dad said that he should be getting Whiskers' ashes back on Monday. I'll pick them up from him the next time I visit, hopefully before June comes. I still don't know where I'll put them, I don't want...

I know some of you may be tired of hearing about Whiskers, but I'm still sad, so I just want to get more out in my journal.

Things are slowly getting better...but, like I said, I'm going to be grieving all over again the next time I go to Dad's. Some people seem confused by the fact that I didn't presently live with Whiskers. This is the story.

I slept on the couch with Buddy last night (Ernie and Chewie were upstairs in bed). I knew I'd be crying, and I didn't want to keep Ernie up. I don't know how I managed to sleep, but I finally drifted off early in the morning while watching Benny & Joon. I woke up at my normal time for getting ready for work and decided to just get ready and try to go in. I'm glad I did, I actually had a lot of phone calls and stuff today. It kept me busy, kept my mind off things at times. I cried...

I was watching TV tonight, and my mom called. I could tell she was trying not to cry, and she asked me if I'd heard from dad. I said no, and she told me that Whiskers had a seizure, and he was taking her to an emergency clinic.

My heart broke. Whiskers is really old, we found her as a stray in our yard when I was 8 years old, and I'm 25 now. I just had this awful feeling that this wasn't going to be good.

What happened was that Dad had been in my room earlier to...

I adore my fish, and then I sit down to dinner to eat some fish...while watching my fish. Makes me feel guilty, but apparently not guilty enough to put my fork down.
