He had been doing so well. We had been figuring he could go back in the regular tank this weekend. This really was a shock.

I came home from work yesterday and found Fitzgerald laying on his side on the bottom of the tank. I immediately thought that maybe the heater had broken, so I ran to check the temperature. Nope, everything was the same as it had been. He was still breathing, but he obviously wasn't doing very well. Once I was by him,...

Ernie's birthday was on Friday. I had picked out a gift and was all excited to get it...but then he told me he really just wanted money to buy some trains. Well, it is HIS birthday...so what Ernie wants, Ernie gets! I was a little disappointed though because he surprisingly beat me home from work on Friday...and he opened his card I'd left sitting on the counter, not realizing that was his whole present until the money fell out. I wanted to watch him open it! ...

Taylor died last night. He was stuck to the filter when I got home. I unplugged the filter as fast as I could, hoping he was still alive, but no luck. I buried him by Scooter and Ivan.

Fitzgerald is really the only fish who is still not looking the greatest...and not that I should play favorites, but Fitzgerald is my favorite. He was the first fish I picked out. I was talking to Ernie last night, and I said, "You know I love all of my fish...but it's just...",...

It's already too hot. I think I'm the only person in the office who would rather have cold weather than hot weather. Yes, there were days I was annoyed with the snow...annoyed with freezing my butt off while scraping the ice off my car...but, overall, I'd rather be chilled than all sweaty and gross. The bugs are also starting to come out to play. Oh, and the air conditioning in my car isn't working now.

Don't get me wrong, I love a sunny spring day...but...

Ernie found Ivan dead in the tank this morning. He wrapped him up in paper towel so that I could bury him when I got up. I buried him out by Scooter. Of course, it had to be pouring rain. Funny, it was raining when I buried Scooter too.

Once back inside, I was looking in the tank, and I realized that Taylor (one of my newest fish) has ich. Majorly. All over him. The other fish don't look like he does, but some of their fins are not looking well. I drove...

It seems like all of my friends have gotten married and/or had babies. I don't want kids, and I don't have plans to get married. If Ernie and I were to get married, the only thing that would change is that I'd have a new last name, and we'd have a very expensive party to pay for.

I'm 25 years old. I love my life, but I don't feel like an adult. I'm not bothered by that...but I think it bothers me that I'm not bothered by it.

Instead of slugging down green beer, I spent my St. Patrick's Day getting new fish! I got Conor (rosey barb, like Elliott), Taylor (lemon tetra), Jasper (marble angel, like Fitzgerald), and Herman (pleco). Conor and Elliott are basically best friends now, and Jasper sure does like Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald seems to like him for the most part as well...they swim and hang out together. Ernie doesn't even call him Jasper...he calls him Mini-Fitz. My blood fin tetra...

Guess I spoke too soon yesterday. I found him when I got home from work. He was my tiger barb. He'd started turning white, but at least the other fish hadn't started picking at him yet. Even his fins were still all pretty and intact. While I knew I was going to have to face this now that I had an aquarium, I still hadn't thought about what I was going to do with the fish when they died. In my family, my dad would bury fish. When I had my two bettas from college,...

I made nachos for dinner last night and while packing up leftovers, I dropped a plastic container of sour cream. The bottom cracked open once it hit the floor, sending an explosion of sour cream all over the kitchen. I wanted to cry...but I guess there are worse things to have splattered around.

Tomorrow will be my first paycheck since getting my raise. I am so excited! I've already been saving money from each check, so my plan is to save more...but to also not feel guilty if...

Well, we didn't really do anything exciting, but I still really enjoyed myself. Work was a lot of fun on Friday. There's a county sheriff's department substation in the downstars of the building, and they had one of the K-9 dogs in. One of my co-workers called down and asked if they could bring the dog up, if they had time. Well, they did...so I got to spend some time with an adorable, ginormous German Shepard named Blaze. Later on, we did the usual birthday celebration...cake, candles...

I knew I was being considered for one...so I had a realistic amount I was hoping for...then I had what I considered to be a really getting my hopes up amount...and my raise is actually higher than that! Obviously, I am beyond thrilled.

They're doing an office collection again for the lottery, and I actually have money on me this time (got paid yesterday). I wasn't going to pitch in because I figured I shouldn't waste $5...but I decided if I had a $5 bill in my wallet that I'd pitch it in...and I did. Even though it's a shot in the dark and most likely a waste of money, it's always nice to be a part of some office camraderie. Hey, our chance is just as good as anybody else's.

The lotto jackpot is way up there...like, $200+ million. Everybody in the office is pitching in $5...except me. I get paid Thursday, and I've got cash set aside for groceries from the Schwan's man tonight, and that leaves me with about $5. However...the candy jar I faithfully keep filled on my desk to satisfy my co-workers' chocolate cravings (okay, and mine) is almost empty. I was planning on buying more candy on my lunch hour, which requires the money I would have pitched in towards the lottery...
