so this weekend we went to the Groningen Hot Air Balloon festival.
weather was questionable, but after waiting a while for weather reports they finally decided to launch.
apparently the festival was also at a smaller park this year, which some think also added to the incident.

the weather was cloudy with periods of mist, and a bit of wind.
the 2nd balloon that took off actually got caught by a gust of wind as it tried to take off.
unfortunately the balloon...

what great concerts!
we went to amsterdam both days. just got home today around 5pm.
i posted previously that i hadn't been that excited, but the shows were awesome and in a strange way left me wanting more (2010 hopefully?)...

we're dead tired...i've got sore feet, aching leg muscels...sleepy...feel like a zombie...

we've got just enough time to do laundry and repack stuff tonite cuz hubby and i are going camping tomorrow till the...

for some reason i don't even feel that excited about seeing U2 this time. i'm more excited about meeting up with other friends and interferencers.

we leave tomorrow for amsterdam, we'll be at the concert on monday and tuesday.

been busy with school n' art stuff.

DHL arrived earlier today with 2 tickets for a'dam 21 juli.
TNT Post arrived about 1/2 later with our a'dam GA tickets for 20 juli.

i don't know why they arrived with different methods...
i was getting a little worried there for a while.

but now i can do the happy dance!!!!

unfortunately they don't really celebrate st. patty's day over here.
so no corned beef or goinig out to the irish pub for me this year
but i will be wearing green today!

AND i can spend the afternoon tracking my U2 tickets on the DHL website

i suspect the tickets should arrive by this afternoon.
hopefully AFTER i come home from school!

what a great one year moving to the netherlands anniversary gift, hehe!

i wasn't even that excited about the new u2 album this time around.
the songs don't grab me...some of them are starting to grow on me a little...
i guess i'm one of the few who don't like the new album.

but i am starting to get a little excited again now that we have the tickets.

the presale on eventim.nl was flawless...

it's finally beginning to look and feel a bit more like spring around here.
i'm definitelly ready for the warmer weather!
while temps have warmed up a bit, only to the 40's and 50's, and it's still cloudy, rainy and miserable weather a lot of the time,
i have noticed the beautiful flowers starting to bloom.

what a fun weekend we had.
first, friday night we went to the last game/party for the local ice hockey game.
we didn't get home till around 2am and already knew we had to get up early for the u2 cd release party.

we'd planned on getting up at 7am and taking the train at 10am to amsterdam but we were way to tired for that.
so we got up an hour later and left at 10am instead.
not too bad, we really needed our sleep!

anyway it's about a 2 and...

yep things are definitely getting busy around here for me!

a few weeks ago i designed an invitation for a non profit business that helps people with moving to the netherlands, also helps old people, and families.
sort of an all around help organization i guess is the best way to explain it.

anyway the invitations were just recently sent out at the beginning of this month so people are just starting to get them now. i've had very positive feedback from them....

saturday night rono and i went to utrecht to see his favorite local ice hockey team play an away game.
it's not the same as the dallas stars, but it's still fun.
marty met us at the game.
it was good to see him again, too bad we didn't get to visit too much other than watching the game and a quick bite to eat afterwards.
utrecht is a little over a 2 hour drive from where we live.
we got home at almost 2am.

clips of the game were rebroadcast...
