I feel silly even asking this question, but I can't make up my mind!! As most of you know, I had the miraculous good fortune of getting pulled up on stage last tour in my belly dance costume. The question is...should I try this again?

Normally I would say absolutely not, I've had my turn, he's not pulling many people up this time etc etc. That is basically how I feel. However, a couple of people have mentioned to me that someone else got pulled up for MW in a costume this year, so...

I still haven't posted anything since my return from the UK (I promise to post some thoughts on the trip and the show soon!) and one of the reasons for that is the increasing insanity at work. Remember how one of my staff quit? Well on her last day I guess she decided to take me and my boss down with her, by writing a scathing, mean spirited and plain untrue rant to the President of the organization about us. As if it weren't bad enough that she accused me of being incompetent, she also insinuated...

Today she refused to sign the birthday card I had coordinated for our boss. Probably because I was the one who got the card!

So after quitting and being out of the office Thurs/Fri, my Grants Manager came in today. After mustering my courage, I went into her office and asked her how she was doing, told her I was really sorry that this had happened, and she said that she was at peace. Then I asked her if she'd like to go to lunch before I leave on vacation (I won't ever see her again after that) and she very firmly but politely declined. "No I would not. Thanks, but NO."

GEEZ...what the hell did...

I can't believe how long it has been since I've posted on my blog (or anywhere online really). It seems to be a combination of nothing new or exciting to report (Paul always beats me to it) or else just being too busy and exhausted.

So...some updates just so you know I'm alive.

Work is all consuming and exhausting. If I had known just how stressful it would be, I might not have taken the job...although I'm working for an organization that really cares...

I was beginning to think that it was VERY strange that I hadn't received an email about the presale, so I went onto my profile to see if the code was within.

Well can you believe it, those bastards didn't send me a renewal notice (which they do EVERY YEAR), so I discover to my horror that I expired on March 8! This was on the 11th, so I was 3 days late!!

Did they cut me some slack? Noooo way. I am now in the Boots group when I have faithfully been a Propaganda and fully...

Overall I think it's an excellent album. Not my favourite, but certainly great and growing on me the more I listen. It's definitely one of these albums where you hear different things each time and it has a lot of depth. Funnily enough, the first time I listened to it I was thrilled, the second time I thought "uhoh...this isn't as good as I thought" and then continued to have a range of positive and negative feelings for the next 5 or so listens. Well this week was the first week of my new job. I came to it more or less well rested after the glorious (but way too action packed) trip to FL. Swimming with manatees was the most amazing and astounding experience. They are soooooooooooooooooooooo sweet!!!!!!!!

The first stream we went to was so muddy we couldn't see a THING, yet we kept bumping into these big, slimy things that would periodically surface like whales....it was like swimming with the Loch Ness monster!...

I actually had to take a sick day yesterday, on my last week at work!

This had better be over by Monday when I take Paul on his magical Birthday trip!!

I didn't want to post anything online about it until an announcement went out at work, but now that's happened I can finally talk about this!

As a lot of you know, I currently work for the Jane Goodall Institute. It is a fantastic organization that is accomplishing so many great things, not just for chimpanzees and conservation of their habitat, but also for human development in Africa, and inspiring youth to become the next generation of leaders and environmental stewards....

The BBC and the Washington Post say U2 will be there, the official site says only Bono.

This whole concert takes place right during my first belly dance gala rehearsal, so I don't take missing that lightly. Plus just thinking about the crowds and the cold

I can totally blow off a Bono-MJB One screechathon, but I do NOT want to miss U2 if they are right there in my own back yard (well, my 2 hour away back yard) so to speak.

What to do?!?!? When will...

Happy New Year, everyone!!!

One of the first things I need to resolve is to write more in my blog!

2008 was a pretty good and eventful year overall.

There were ups:

- The visit from Char & Rick and our wonderful interference party in October

- Going to Temagami in the summer (and hanging out with my oldest and best childhood friend) AND the winter (thus the aforementioned skiing humiliation)...

I am FINALLY home with Paul after two exhausting weeks away, and Barack Obama has won. All is right with the world.
