It's almost weekend! Hell yeah! The plans? Tonight I'll be getting rid of my hangover from last night at a venue called 013 in Tilburg. There's a new wave party there (not that I'm such a huge new wave fan, but they do tend to play some other eighties music as well, including U2! And the djs are friends of mine).

Tomorrow I need to write some cd reviews and get some news for the magazine together. In the evening a friend of mine is coming over, so I guess we'll be going out in Amsterdam......

With the American elections on today, a war still going on in Irak and various other conflicts around the world, the Netherlands has shown yet another bad side of itself today.

Filmdirector/writer Theo van Gogh was murdered today (about 3,5 hours ago), not too far from my house in Amsterdam. They don't know the reason yet, but it was well-known that he was very critical of the Islam. And apparently a note was found on his body with Arabic text on it.

Universal Records in the Netherlands is finally organising a listening session of HTDAAB and I'm going!!! Very happy with that...

And before anybody asks: No, I won't try and record it! I don't want to lose my job/contacts over this...

Thank God I'm better again... I was soooo bored! I finally got to download all the TOTP songs, so I'm very happy with that. Just been to my parents for diner, which was very good. I also got to listen to the demo that my brother and his band recorded last weekend when I was in London and it sounds amazing! Very curious how it's gonna work out...

I'm ill, so no new big entries at the moment... Back to sleep now!

Came back from London this morning and it was well worth the trip and the money!

I got to watch the outside performance from the side of the stage and inside I was standing front row right in front of The Edge!

I'll write a longer story tomorrow at work (where I don't have to pay a lot of money for the internet!).

Just 2,5 days of work left before I'm off to London! I must say that I'm very excited!

Just got back from a night on the town in Amsterdam. It's 5.30 in the morning now, I've had too much to drink, but I've had a really good night! Hanging out with friends, watching bands and drinking a bit is a good combination...

I was doing an interview today with a new artist from Universal Music (as you all know, they're the recordcompany of U2 as well, at least in Europe). There was a guy there from the headquarters in London and he was the international marketing manager for U2 as well. I talked to him a bit about U2 and he had already heard the album (just once! so I think the whole story about journalists already having an advanced promo copy is false if even he hasn't got a copy yet). I'm not a big fan of Mondays and Tuesdays. Start of the week, lots of work ahead of you, still hungover from the weekend. No, I prefer Fridays.

Did do a lot of work this time on a Monday (which normally never happens, I'm not so productive at the start of the week): finally wrote the interview with Lostprophets and with Papa Roach and wrote a piece about Joss Stone.

I'm also not a big fan of working 9 to 5. I'm more a 12 to 8 or 9 type. And that's just what they don't...

Well, there it is: my first journal entry! I'll have to get used to sharing my thoughts and life with people (and doing that in English!), but it seems like an interesting experience. My English will have some mistakes in it here and there, since I'm Dutch.
