My guardian angel was watching over me - I would be scarred for life if this cat had claws! It was a polydactyl cat too (has extra toes), so it had a really big wide front paw.

I was just starting to look at her, I could tell she wasn't thrilled to be here but with no warning whatsoever, she swatted me across the face with her right paw! Her owner was beyond horrified and very apologetic. I know she was just nervous - but I am just so thankful...

There is a cat that has been in my office for the past month named Louie. He is a big neutered male that we are trying to find a home for. One of our clients adopted him, brought him in for a checkup, and we found that he has FIV. This client already has a cat at home, and even though the risk is very low, she does not want to keep him and risk having her other cat contract FIV. He appears perfectly healthy and is just too sweet, has to rub on everyone and eveything, motor is always going. ...

I have been at my job just over 3 months. My boss and I had verbally agreed that at about the 6 month mark we'd discuss possibly changing how I am compensated.

I get my check today, and it has an almost 15% raise! They think I've been doing well (and know they are screwed if I leave anytime soon) especially being as busy as they have been the past few weeks. There were a few days where I felt like there was no way my salary was covering...

My 10 year high school reunion is tonight, decided it wasn't worth $40/person after to going to Karl's reunion 2 years ago. I'd probably still be too nervous to go even if it had been free. My old crush will be there, and Karl is not generally the jealous type, but I don't think he'd let me just say hi without acting like a you-know-what. Best not to stir up an old hornet's nest I guess

I'll just say I took care of a semi-famous person's cat today and it was really intimidating and I really need to make sure my liability coverage is all set - I'd say who it is but they have the big bucks to sue me if someone said to them, "Oh, I heard you take your cats to Dr. BLS!" - like in case that's leaking medical info or something ...

Karl got pulled over. Again. He gets pulled over a lot, but has only had one ticket stick (that my cop-uncle helped get down from what it originally was). He got out of it tonight by telling the cop a joke - and a borderline racist one at that

He needs to just freekin slow down!!!!!!!!!!

Change is the hardest thing in life for me to deal with - it's not easy for anyone, but I seem to take it especially hard, even 'good' change.

I accepted a job offer from a practice that just sees cats. They are the biggest cat practice in MI and although the initial salary is not what I had hoped for, I still think in the long run this will be a great opportunity. Once my client base grows and I am generating revenue for the practice, I will then be paid based on the revenue I bring in.

I now have to try to focus on getting the house ready to put up for sale. When there is no traffic, it takes about 50 minutes...

Molly, my little cocker spaniel mix baby, is just a few days shy of turning 13. She's been battling bladder cancer for almost a year now and has been doing really well. I decided to try chemotherapy a few months ago, and she has had basically no side effects up until now.

She got a chemo treatment last Thursday, and I dropped her off at my mom's house to be babysat for the weekend while I was up north for the weekend. She just didn't seem to be herself and was having accidents...

I mentioned a few months ago that my sister had a miscarriage - she took a pregnancy test this morning and she is pregnant again!

She will be due in January and Karl is already being obnoxious about how he is *not* going to share his birthday with anyone and my sis will just have to hold it in if it comes down to being that close!

Just praying that last time was fluke and that she will carry this baby to term with no problems...

I had interview #2 today, at the cats-only practice. I spent about 4 hours there, and no red flags so far! I'll go back again next week and hang out for a few more hours, but I told the doctor that her practice was definitely the front-runner of all the places I've talked to. We haven't talked numbers yet, but for what they charge their clients, I highly doubt that salary would be an issue. I'll keep my 2 other and interviews, but I really think that this is what I want to do
