So, as most of you know, I'm a high school teacher. Tonight is awards night. I have the most lazy, unhelpful group of seniors this year so I've planned and executed almost the entire thing myself. I have gone home many a day this year feeling sort of used, like my students feel like I'm there to serve them and should be grateful for it. When I looked at my list of seniors to pick the Outstanding Student award recipient, I couldn't think of one who deserved it.
