*sigh* Standing in line for hours, wandering around Chicago, jumping around for two shows has undone all of the heeling and progress I've made over the past several years as far as the chronic joint problem I have in my right foot (sesamoiditis and arthritis). I injured the foot in April 2004 or 2005, I can't even remember, and for a year after that, tried various things, saw various doctors, took various x-rays which all concluded nothing other than my body likes to find a random joint and attack...

My random confession is that there is this person who often calls while I'm covering the phone line, and her accent/the way she speaks (she's not a foreigner) is like nails on a chalkboard to me. She's a very nice person but OMG when she talks it's like I want to stab my eardrums.

Strange or what?

I need to get some books for a 2 week vacation. I actually download audio books b/c that's easier for me on the beach (too many books have fallen in the lake), in the car (car sick reading) and in bed (heavy books bother arthritic wrist/thumb joint). But I just need some titles or authors to search for. Basically I want some fiction, easy reading, murder mystery kind of stuff. I have or have read everything by James Patterson (and his ghost writers), Kathy Reichs, and Patricia Cornwell, but...

...buying a home

1. My new van which I love and is everything I wanted, my new van which I have made exactly ONE payment on, was brutally rear-ended on Wednesday night. Lord knows if/when I will get it back.....

2. My dog, my show dog, has these little spots all over the insides of his ears and is losing more and more hair on the sides and back of his ears. I can add or subtract weight and groom for this or that, but I cannot create the illusion of hair where there is none!

I have a staph infection on my head again. Gross! I *hate* taking the antibiotics, they make me feel really yuck. Also, we're going to visit Phil's grandma in a nursing home this weekend, so now I'll have to be uber careful not to touch her or anything lest I infect them all, being already very old and frail and sick.

So I finally got my U2.com gift (a lot of help that was since I got my tix in the general sale!) and this song has been haunting my dreams. I'm not sure if I actually like the song or not...

Phase 1 was losing weight. Phase 2 was being able to keep it off for a year (withOUT any diets, journals, calorie counting, etc). Now Phase 3 is to lose the last little bit, much less than before but the hardest bit! I think I'll have to count calories again for this. I did this thing at work (through the health insurance company) where they did a body fat assessment. My BMI and water percentage were ideal (on the low end of normal, but not so low that losing more will be unhealthy). They...

For real, she is out of her mind sometimes. I'm taking her to the vet on Tues and if they can't help her they will refer us elsewhere. Poor dog!

I'm raising some tadpoles this summer. I like to see what kinds of frogs they turn into and then let them go back at the pond. The larger blobs are some snails.
