My friend has just returned from his second tour in Iraq and I was one of the first to see him

But his wife won't let him in the house or see his baby (that he only got to be with for 2 months on his last time home) because she has been cheating on him and thinks he will hurt her.

Well, she couldn't expect him to be happy about it! And if she would have just kept her mouth shut about it he prob wouldn't have known about it.

So she is staying at...

....and still happy.


We celebrated our 21st anniversary on Thursday.

Not much excitement this year (crosses fingers because the week ain't over yet )

This week I ALMOST lost my diamond out of my wedding ring, but luckily I had the girls at Zales clean my it on Wed. When she brought it back to me, she showed me that my prongs were paper-thin (I couldn't even see them) and suggested I get it in for repair SOON!
I handed it right back...

He is home, on oxygen, eating lots of diet meals, and losing weight.

All is good.

Dad is having triple by-pass with a twist of stint.




Also, they are going to remove the spot on his head while they have him under.

He is nervous.

He had 100% blockage in his back artery and 90% in 3 other arteries. The doctor couldn't believer he was alive.

I had to come back home, but Mr GG will go back tomorrow morning and I will go late Sat night and stay with him thru Sun/Mon morn, then back again on Wed/Thurs...

Among the other things, he has a blockage at the back of his heart.

He goes in to have a procedure done on Wed (DuPage....Nurse Chrissi)
Mr GG is going home for 3 days to help calm him and mom while all this is going on, I'll stay here with the dogs and be ready to drive home if needed.

Dad has had this spot on his head for 3-4 years now.

Its very ugly and has grown from the size of dime to the size of a dollar.
And it oozes and bleeds and its just gross!

So after years of begging him to go to the doctor, he finally went on Thursday and got the news.

I guess its not like we expected anything diff, but if he would have gone sooner......

He has other problems too, high blood pressure and might be diabetic.

And I'm sorry the guy next door won't take of his own yard and let it run 4 inches high with crab grass and creeping charlie, and that it constantly tries to ruin you.

Its been such a long time since I actually wrote a real letter.
I send notes and cards all the time, that doesn't count.
I'm talking about a real letter, like maybe a whole page or two.
I think people still like them.
I'm gonna try and write at least one a week to old friends, relatives, maybe even my crack-addict local congressman

And I'm not sure how to feel about it


I guess I'm pretty lucky to get to 43 yrs old without needing eyeglasses for anything else, though.

At first I was in denial, pushing the book further away, then bringing it closer, to get the right focus. Kinda felt like Grover from Sesame Street.....Near.......Far.......Near.......Far....


Its nice to be able to read a book in bed again.
Even nicer that I only needed the 1.0 and got...

Since it was SNOWING today on my day off, I decided to start some Spring Cleaning.

I recently read an article that suggested one way to de-clutter your life was to find one item a day to get rid of.
Sort unwanted things into Yard Sale, Goodwill, Friend, or Trash piles. I'm finding it easier to get rid more than just the one thing, at least today.
And I was quite successful with my yard sale last year, so......And I do still have all the empty tubs from the stuff...

I was working yesterday when a couple of girls walked in with icecream.
It looked really good, especially since Spring is coming and it was so nice outside.
I said, mostly just for conversation "Wow! That looks really yummy"

A few minutes later, the girls came back into my store with a bowl of icecream for me
They said "This is for you! Enjoy!"

That was so nice

It really is.
About 52 with just a little wind.
I picked up some sticks while the dogs roamed around sniffing all the flowers that are starting to come up.

Oh, and I found a squirrel skull to go in my bone collection

My doctors appointment was productive....for a change.
-I'm going to start physical therapy for the fms
-She gave me some new meds for my tremors.
-The FMS support group put out the 09 calendar of events/mtgs,...

I haven't seen him in a long time

I keep having dreams about people that I am aware of but don't really know.

Like the guy who worked at a coffee shop that I talked to maybe twice a year or so ago, but I still see him in the mall walking by my store. He doesn't say hello or anything, why would he?

So why did he kidnap me in my dream???
Give me orange juice and drive me to Chicago, put me on a train back to Southern Illinois and then on a bus back to Chicago???
He's a skinny dude, its not...
