Weekend Camping Trip

Ernie and I went camping at Jerry's for the weekend. There was a big group up there, it was a lot of fun. The new trailer is so awesome, this was our second time taking it out. We put the awning out for the first time and put up the lights that his Mom bought us:

We couldn't have our rug out or our chairs set up, because Buddy bunches the rug up while playing with his toys and knocks the chairs over by catching them with his tie out cord.

We were playing with Buddy in one of the ponds, but his floating toy had a crack in it...so it filled up with water and sank. Buddy is nuts about his toys, so he was refusing to come out of the pond until he found his toy. He was swimming like crazy and diving under, desperately trying to find his toy. I realize he's young and has lots of energy, but I was worried he'd exhaust himself before he realized it and drown (I know, I'm overly paranoid). Ernie ran back to our site to get Chewie's toy like Buddy's because we figured we could lure him out with that. I was so nervous watching him, I was preparing to have to suddenly dive in and help him...but his energy level was still high. Another camper was surveying the water by the edge, and she could see his toy below the surface (it helped that it's neon orange). I got Buddy to come over to the area, and he found it. I quickly grabbed it from him and took off running to our site, and he raced after me.

Ernie went on the rafting trip on Saturday, but I stayed at the trailer. I guess I'm just not very adventurous. I played with the dogs and watched Seinfeld DVDs. I was looking forward to the usual evening campfire, but I got horribly sick in the early evening and was absolutely miserable. I just holed up in the trailer instead. They had people playing music there too, I could hear it from inside. I was bummed out that I was so sick, but the dogs loved having me with them. Of course, I started feeling better come Sunday morning when we were preparing to leave. Figures!
I guess at least I wasn't sick for the drive home though.
