So I've been labeled a groupie

I went to the dentist today to get a filling fixed. My sister is the new receptionist there, and apparantly she dished about my Chicago experience, camping out, etc. My dentist comes in and says, "So your sister tells me you've become a u2 groupie, I never would have pegged you for one of those crazies!"
What is a non-offensive way to describe what we are? When I hear groupies, I think of girls lined up outside of dressing rooms waiting to get it on with band members, or those types that throw their panties on stage (DEFINITELY not me). But I do not like being labeled a groupie
BTW - my dentist is my first cousin once removed, been my dentist for almost 20 years

I get labeled a "groupie" at work all the time. We had a meeting on the day of the Minneapolis concert where we had to go around the room and say if we had any items to bring up. There's about 30 of us so they don't expect each person will have an item. I said I did not have anything that day but my boss said "come on! What's tonight? Are you excited to go?!?!?..." and then one of my coworkers "whispers" to a new person loud enough so all 30 people could hear her "Amanda is a groupie and is leaving work early today to try to meet the band." I just glared at her. Yeah I left early to see the band. I don't go to a U2 concert unless I can see the band before :sexywink:
But I do agree with your definition of a groupie. It really bothers me when I'm called that :mad:Posted 10-04-2005 at 08:46 PM by arw

 I know that is one reason I didn't let co-workers know anything about my U2 life for years and years! Now they do though, and I hate it when they use the word groupie!!
When they make me mad enough, I just tell them that when I get to f*%# Bono, I'll let them know and until then don't use that word. :banghead:
On a funny note, I have just another scary pleba girl shirt, and I overheard my mother & my son talking about what it means, and my mom said "We probably don't want to know!" :lmao:Posted 10-05-2005 at 06:59 AM by EPandAmerica
