This is just a little personal, but I was assaulted and almost raped tonight by a guy who followed me into the lobby of my new building. I always try to be aware of my surroundings, but this just shows that you can never be too careful.
I was just driven home by the police and am in shock. Don't know what else to say. Please be careful.

I'm still in shock and the paranoia is setting in now, but I'm trying to keep it together. Nothing like this has ever happend to me. I called off work today, because I didn't sleep at all and I'm in no state of mind to take care of anyone else. I also have a nice gash on my back where he slammed me against the mailboxes when he tried to do whatever he was going to do to me. I feel violated just from what happened, and I can only imagine how it could've been worse. I can't believe women go through these things every day. My new neighborhood is a relatively safe one, so this can happen anywhere. The police told me I did exactly the right thing by screaming and fighting back. Take care of yourselves and don't ever let anyone think you'll back down and be their victim.
Ugh.
