Another chance to move on.

You know, its funny. People always talk about how in life you just "gotta move on". As we all know, its not so easy. Sadly, today is the 7th anniversary of 9/11. I'm sure there are a lot of folks who after 7 years still have a tough time moving on from that horrible day. I only live about 50 miles from the WTC, but I didn't know anyone personally who died there. So, moving on from 9/11 was a little easier for me because I didn't really know anyone who was affected.
Now, today just happens to be 9/11, but I'm actually talking about moving on from an old relationship. To bring you up to speed, about 4 1/2 years ago, I started seeing my ex. She knew from the beginning that I was a huge U2 fan. So, when How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb came out in November of 2004, she knew I'd be listening to the album a lot. We would listen to the CD a lot together in the car. Even though she wasn't a huge U2 fan, she enjoyed the album too. So pretty much, Bomb became a major part of the soundtrack for a decent chunk of our relationship. When I listen to a number of the songs now, I'm reminded of our time together years ago.
So, here we are some 4 years later and it looked like U2 were gonna be releasing the next album right on time in the Fall of 2008. Not only was I looking forward to hearing new stuff from the Boys, but I also was looking forward to making new memories from this new album and to be able to move on from my previous relationship completely. Yes, hearing Bomb sometimes does bring back memories from the old ex, but hearing the new stuff would've meant an old chapter in my life was completely closed. Plus, I have been seeing someone new and I would've liked her to feel the excitement of a new U2 album release. But, then U2 delayed the album. How dare they? LoL! Don't they know I'm trying to move on? Lol! Don't they know I need new U2 music for the soundtrack of my life? Anyway, my moving on process is still going forward. As each day comes, I'm able move on more from the ex, but it sure would've been nice to have some new U2 music to accompany the process.
