U2 Indifference.. where true fans fear to fall

I know the last thing you want to hear.. go enjoy your summer...
With September comes the 21st and that would be the concert I have tickets to. When I first bought them I was excited and ready and yes yes yes I'm finally going to see them live.
Things are changing, money is tighter and I am worried about being able to afford this. I just got back from an amazing trip to the Rockies ...
I feel lately, and I know I'm probably in the minority.. I feel tired of U2.
I can't believe I just said that. We're not writing off Boston just yet.. but my bf still needs to get a passport and that's eighty dollars that could be used on bills or something else...
The job hunt has been difficult, there isn't much going and I stress and worry over every little thing...
I know that I'll likely rebound from this and if I wound up selling the tickets afterwards I would be depressed because I didn't go.
I can't win either way

Agreed.. I like the album but .. and I'm not sure what, there is something missing in it for me. Looking at the setlists, most of the songs I have seen live before. Can I be arsed to spend a ton of money to hear Ultra Violet live? Not really. I didn't even consider buying tickets for this tour. I guess I am a bit jaded of the whole U2 band wagon.Posted 07-11-2009 at 05:19 PM by Party Boy

I recently came home from seeing my very favourite band several times. Now this is a band I adore -- I know and do some work for a couple of the members and I'd do anything I could for them, plus their new album is wonderful -- but life has been hectic this year and it was really hard to get in the mood to actually go see them. Even on the drive to the first show I couldn't help but wonder why the hell I was doing it. But then I got there, was able to say hi to the band members I know, got chatting with friends I rarely get to see other than on these tours, and all of a sudden it was great and I was back in the correct mood.
So my advice is to hang on to your tickets and not worry too much about not being in the mood for the concert yet. Keep working on arrangements (but don't make non-refundable reservations now) and see how things go for the next few weeks. When the date gets closer you might find yourself getting more excited about it.
But if as time gets close, you find you still don't feel like going, sell your tickets and cancel your other arrangements. The band will do another swing through North America next year and you might be much more ready for it then.Posted 07-12-2009 at 04:37 AM by indra

I'm only able to afford one concert, and only just sort of... I'm trying to hang on to the tickets because, just like you I will regret not going afterwards. Good luck and I hope you can pull this off
