We were dead center inner rail at the back of the circle, and dead center sound board. Both were equal, IMO, for different reasons. Actually, just show up a little before the gates open, you don't necessarily have to hang that far back, but you will have lots of space to choose from and could be a few rows off the outer rail but still have more room. Last night they were giving out ellipse bands until like 6pm. A few people got them so they had the option of getting back in later, but ended up staying back at the soundboard for the view and better sound.Posted 09-14-2009 at 01:49 PM by Liesje

i've said this quite a few times over the last few days...
you're too far out at the soundboard
you can show up at 5, wait for the line to go in, and still get 7-10 rows from the outer rail (or maybe even in circle)...most of those people hang out in the concourse, get drinks and merchandise.
if you want to be outside the rail (which i think is better), the key is to get as close as possible and establish your spot, THEN get your beer if that's what you want to do.
