Since time immemorial - goups of people have existed - call them what you will.

This was originally going in the IO thread but it's going in here now as I just ended up spouting on, as I do. It's in all kinds of persons but hopefully you can get the gist of it if you feel like torturing yourself and reading it lol. It's a rant and unproofed, so it'll be a tough read!!



Don't worry Zoots - you aren't the only one that has sent PMs with that sentiment. I'm sure there are a lot of US. WE post all over the board, some even in fact posting in this thread with their guileless masks on.

I have no wish to be part of an exclusive clique, however, not everyone gets my sense of humour, and may feel left out. It makes sense that people with similar likes, dislikes, crushes, idols, talents, tastes, sense (or zero sense) of humour, intelligence, faith, seriousness, neediness, hatred often post in the same places and respond to each other. A lot of these things will cross over from person to person, thread to thread, forum to forum as most people don't have all of these in common. We wont all understand each other, and we all expect to get different things from this board (friendship, inside band info, feeling of belonging (which unfortunately you aren't going to get from everyone with such varied personalities on a board like this) , a place to blow off steam when you have to be fairly together and serious in real life, a place to flirt when you feel lonely or can't do it real life because your husband/bf or wife/gf might object if they saw, a place to whine or vent, a place to talk about similar interests outside the band, and a place to come to for help because you know you can reach a wide audience fairly quickly).

It's ironic, when I first joined this board there was something similar going on if I remember correctly, and it has been a common complaint through the years I've been here (not very long in the big picture). Stop the cliques :banplz: They're ruining it, They're mean. It's been there forever and will always be around. Get over it. I posted randomly and annoyingly all over the board until I found a nice group of people that would tolerate me popping in and making my random vague nonsense comments (mostly VP, Bri and Reg...Tre took forever to come around to my presence...not sure if he even has...I think I drive him nuts), on a fairly consistent basis. I appreciate you letting me integrate myself there, but it really took a while. People always have randomly popped into the bar, and while I generally try to make conversation with them, if I don't know what they are talking about they might get ignored. I imagine it's like that in most threads. I don;t think people mind in general...and you know what..if you do, tough shit, it's not your internet lol. I have been mean occasionally, if a point of view ticks me off, or people are just being ridiculous...needy? probably not the best person to expect sympathy from. Now you know. I'm not a vindictive person, so even though I might be an ass one day depending on how my own day is going, I also like to genuinely help, so I'll offer that too. If I see lots of people trying to help you and you ignoring them and asking the same thing over and over, then you get what you get....

I'm certainly not a saint on here, I'm not inclusionary or exclusionary, if you get me, good, if not...guess what...no harm done, neither of us should take it personally or see it as an affront. If I don't get you...no harm done. Does it mean we can't ever post in the same place, no, because we might have some common ground about something, or a good laugh when we might not otherwise really talk to each other. If you've posted anywhere today with a holier than though attitude...you're a bigger fool than you think. I'm not talking anywhere or anyone specifically, but if you've done it, you'll know.


You know who I have to give props to, even though they drives me a little nuts sometimes, but only because they are always striving to do the right thing, and we all have different definitions of that and when to let something go as not being a big deal, so sometimes I think...why did you do that, but whatever, they're trying to do right by the majority - we're not all always going to be happy all of the time. Now all of this doesn't mean I won't roll my eyes at the screen, or make a joke about you if I think you are being silly, or leave you alone if I'm in the mood for annoying people, or call you a nutcase if you're being one...and some of that might happen in private conversation mg, horrorsshestalkingaboutmebeindmyback:, but I expect the same will happen of me, and that's okay, I'm a big girl. Most of the time
