The annual trip has been booked! 
My parents are going on sabbatical and will be spending 6 weeks in Kona, so my brother and I will join them there for Christmas. It's a great deal, because they're doing a house swap with this friend of theirs that lives there, which will save a lot of money on accommodations.
It will definitely be a different experience than in previous years, as we've always gone to Honolulu, but I'm excited to visit a new island. I'll be there Dec 17-28th, which is longer than I had originally thought I'd be able to go for.
The prices for flights this year have been astronomically high compared with last year. However, tonight the price dropped about $400, so it made sense to book the tickets now. I got a good deal, and am so glad to finally have it all taken care of. Now all that's left to do is to formally book my vacation with my boss. She's really cool and laid-back, and of course knows that I go on this trip every year, so it should be no problem at all.
I can't wait until December!
