I like to move it, move it

All I ever seem to write about, whenever I bother to update this thing, is exercise. That's pretty much the only interesting thing in my life right now.
On May 31st I did my 3rd 10k of the year. I can't believe I've done 3 of them so far! I was totally unprepared for that run, so I didn't have any time goals. I just wanted to finish. It was one of the hottest days of the year so far, so I was totally sweating even before the race started. It was a gorgeous day, and we were running in a beautiful neighborhood, which was fun. My time was the worst I've ever done for a 10k, which was unsurprising. However it was only 4 minutes slower than my PB, so that's not too shabby. I wasn't really disappointed. I just wanted to finish, and finish I did! I wasn't dead last, and there were several people slower than me in my age category, so that made me happy.
We got a funky medal at the finish line, so I have one more to add to my collection.
Since the 10k ended, I've been concentrating on swimming, in preparation for a 1 mile swim race coming up in a few weeks. I'm totally freaked out about it, but as you may have guessed, I always overreact about any race I do. No matter what, I generally end up doing fairly well, so I'm choosing to ignore the fear. It's irrational.
On the days I don't swim, I've been doing the 30 Day Shred. It's AWESOME!! It's totally kicking my ass, but I'm surprised by how much I love it. I haven't really seen any results yet, but I know it does take time. So basically I'm working out pretty much every single day. Man. I'm totally crazy.
This DVD will be great for the winter months, when I'm not motivated to go running outside, and the weather is crappy.
In other news, my first vacation of the year starts in 2 weeks, not that I'm counting or anything.
I'm so excited to have a week off! I'm just going to hang out at my parent's camp, like I do every year, as I'm saving up the rest of my vacation time for October and December.

Zu - I definitely think there will be a tri happening. Just when, who knows. I think it would be so much fun! I just need to get a bike, then I can really start to train...
Lila and Lies, this is the shred. I highly recommend it!Posted 07-04-2009 at 12:02 AM by Thora
