My iPod is dead

I have a U2 iPod, and I bought it almost 4 years ago, I think. It's served me well up until now.
And now it is dead.
I have attempted to charge it several times, but the battery must be completely gone, because it is doing absolutely nothing. I’ve tried every trick in the book, and looked up stuff on the Apple website, but I have a feeling the iPod is no longer with us.
Crap. That means I’m going to have to buy a new one before I go to Africa (and ideally much before then, because going without music on a daily basis totally SUCKS!), which is an expense I hadn’t counted on. Anbody want to donate to “Thora’s Buy a New iPod Fund?!”
Just kidding.
I've had a look on eBay, and I found a few excellent deals for just over $100 for an unopened 8GB silver nano. That's pretty fantastic, compared with the Apple website, and other stores in my area. So I may end up buying that this weekend.
I may be eating Kraft Dinner for a while, but at least I'd have an iPod!
We'll see...

I learned a trick from the guys who fixed Sebastian's and mine Ipod.
Tap it like a pack of cigarettes.
With just a little less pressure than a pack o'cigs, on a hard surface.
Do it about 5-10 times.
See if that works.
My Ipod has gone out about 6 times since, and it never fails to get it back going.
I hope it works for you.Posted 05-30-2008 at 07:24 PM by Night & Day
