I've gone to the Dark Side...

Posted 02-15-2009 at 11:24 AM by U2Fanatic4ever
Well, I have gone and done it. I bought a crackberry.. My Motorola Razr V3m (RED) phone has been great but after 2 yrs it just doesn't hold a charge anymore and to get a extended life battery and battery door would cost me 50 bucks. I looked on ebay but everyone was selling the batteries with the doors for the silver, charcoal gray razrs and not the (RED). I have Sprint and their upgrade prices on phones are pretty good. So I was eligible for a upgrade and saw the Blackberry Curve 8330 for $99.99 and thought well it's pretty cool and only 50 bucks more than getting a new battery/door. Not to mention their data plans are great. Unlimited email, web, sprint tv and unlimited texting with 1500 anytime minutes to share between me and the hubby. With a discount that we are currently getting this plan is the same as we are paying now.

So, I took the plunge and bought it last nite over the phone.. Now I will become a fellow crackberry addict.. LOL aka
Gone to the dark side... *cue darth vader voice*

Here's a pic of the phone I am getting..

    Char,
I was debating over and over between the red one or the titanium one. It was a tough choice I am telling you. I kept going back and forth on which one.. Ultimately went with the titanium one.

    Heh, enjoy it.

I've always said that it's very obvious who needs a BB for work and who doesn't because the latter category is so excited to get one. The rest of us just see it as a leash, LOL.

I have Sprint and would like to upgrade to a smartphone, but it does not look I can get as good of a deal that you were able to get for your blackberry. I should go up to the store and inquire about versus looking at their website.

from what I understand online or over the phone is better than in store deals. I spoke with the customer rep over the phone and that is what she was saying. Also I have noticed this myself.
Are you eligible for the upgrade discount? If you have had your phone for 2 yrs or 23 months than you are for the instant discount plus the mail in rebate of 100$. Which ends up being $99.99 for the curve.
Also, the best plan for the BB is either the Simply Everything Plan Or Everything Data Plan (this is what me and the hubby are getting and turns out to be the same as what we are paying now. With the help of his navy discount of 15%). These plans give you unlimited email, web browsing etc. Plus unlimited texting. With the Simply Everything Plan you get basically unlimited everything.
