one less thing to bitch about

i handed in my resignation today. it felt gooooood. i kinda picked a shitty time to do it, from the office's perspective: my boss is out for the week, the dept chair is out for the week beginning tomorrow. so, yeah, hiring is gonna suck. i said i'd gladly help out in any way possible.

i got my boss to cave and stop being a bitch (she called me so i told her). she told me she was proud of me, but hates to see me go. my fav part of the conversation was when she asked if there was anything she could do to convince me to stay. i almost said "sure, triple my salary", because that's how much i'll make after i get this degree. but i just kindly thanked her and declined. she thanked me for the work i've done, and went on about how valued my work here was. she also offered condolences for my dog...which was a complete 180 from the e-mail i got from her last week when i updated them on Bailey and said I was taking the week off.

anyway, it is nice to feel appreciated. i'm ready to hurry up and go, esp since my baby isn't here. it sucks staring at where he used to lay and seeing it empty. i'm really just eager to move and get started with this new chapter in my life.
