I have wondered about it and one possibility is that The Edge was singing at the same time. Not sure. Anyone? I would be very disappointed if I found out they were using prerecorded vox in addition to all the all backing tracks they now use...
The answer to this question is obvious! Sound synching between the stage and the screen is a few seconds out. So if you were watching Bono on the screen, you would experience a bit of a delay.

What makes you think that? As far as I know it's always sounded different on different shows, when the band starts, Bono starts..

Carrie, it's already been shown that what John saw was correct, yet what he heard wasn't. It was Edge singing the bridge of Miracle Drug.

Bono has never sang. Adam's the actual vocalist in U2, but since Bono has more charisma they decided he would be the "singer". Also, Larry writes all the lyrics. Bono just sucks. He's ok though!

Carrie, it's already been shown that what John saw was correct, yet what he heard wasn't. It was Edge singing the bridge of Miracle Drug.

Edge sings "beneath the noise, above the din, I hear your voice, it's whispering" etc. John followed up his original post with this:

"i hope that is the answer but i remember that it wasn't that part of the song. it was the 'i see you when you smile - i've had enough of romantic love...' or whatever it is. the HIGH part. worries."

So, no, it wasn't Edge's bit he was talking about, right?

They were, but Bono sang over the top of them as well. It was to give them some extra punch to start the show. The woooh-hoooos were not pre recorded at all on the Vertigo tour though.

That's right Carrie. That was my point. I swear something was funny about it. Anyway, nobody here even entertained the notion I was right so...

And you also thought Edge had hair plugs...

Sorry, but you don't have much evidence or support backing you up.

That's not an Edge part. It's Bono's and maybe you're on to something... The guy already makes excuses for the Bush administration; it wouldn't be too hard to make excuses for parts of his performances. Then again, I think he'd try pretty hard to not do this and the crappy vocal performances of the Elevation and Vertigo concert DVDs are evidence of that.

Yeah, it's pretty damn great. Only some of the lyrics hold the song back, but I like the subject matter and most of the lyrics.

Wow, you really need to get a life, maybe something outside of Battlestar, Chris Carter, and soft porn...

I wonder if there is any U2 related subject that you don't use (or abuse) to bring in your ridiculous political arguments.

Apart from that, Bono's voice on Vertigo was more than fine.

And NO, he's not lip synching. I think this whole discussion is ridiculous. If you want to see some lip synching, go to see a concert by some current pop act.

Ok, here is my final statement on these subjects: 1. The Edge DID have hairplugss prior to the release of POP. Like everyone else who has this done, he regretted it because it looks terrible and thus wears the hat. Does this hairline look natural to you??? See photo.

By the way, so did Bono, a little later, and I am not the only one who thinks so http://kyality.blogspot.com/2008/01/...d-so-good.html

2. Bono DID have his eyes done, and here is photographic evidence http://www.makemeheal.com/news/image...ic-surgery.jpg and

3. There was something suspicious about that performance I saw and I am not certain Bono was not miming that part of the song.

Thank you and good night.

With those wrinkles, I don't think so. And if he's had hair plugs, he better get his money back (remember that Vertigo tour pic with a clearly visible bald spot in the back of his head?).

dude, you mean Edge during POp? then why post a recent pic of Edge? That one is certainly NOT from POP era.

and I don't see ANY proof on those Bono pics what exactly is there to see there?
