To spite you, I'm going to listen to Zooropa right now, and it's going to be one of my all time favorites.

Zooropa:

2nd best song opening an album in U2's entire catalogue. (WTSHNN is the 1st and of course, not counting Unreleased & Rare, cause Levitate is perfection.)

Incorrect!

Zoo Station will always be the #1 opener and that is a subjectively objective opinionated and irrefutable fact.

Zooropa is in my top five. Sometimes it's even number one... In my view, it is by far U2's most artistically-daring song.

zooropa is one of my all time favourite songs, and is currently enjoying a lot of spins on my itunes.

the buildup, as others have pointed out, is one of the finest ever. what a glorious tune.

I agree. Even though I've always viewed Zooropa as an inconsistent album, I love how freely they experimented on it, and this track is a prime example of what happens when U2 lets themselves loosen up and explore new territory. I think the lyrics are among Bono's best, and it's a song that even when I'm not listening to that much U2 (like lately), I still love.

I might add that I have 3 songs from Zooropa (including Zooropa) in my top 10 all time U2 tracks.
