Which was the last book you read?

Hello all!!

I would like to ask all the readers that which was the last book that they read and how it was similar or different from the other write ups on the same topic on which the book was based on. Waiting for your replies.

Last Book i read was Burmese days by George Orwell.

It was a really engaging read about British Imperialism in Burma with really well thought out charcters. It had no heroes and while depressing, made you think deeply about people's roles, their self-interest and lack of courage to go against the grain.

Similar books... Maybe Wide Sargasso Sea - again about British colonialism but in Jamaica. That was much more pyschological... and focused on the extremely oppressive nature of British colonisers.

Crime and Punishment - Dostoeyevsky

It pretty much predicted the Nietszchean consequences that affected the 20th century. Narcissism and Nihlism are a bad brew mixed together.
