1. And hey now, just got to let you know; a house doesn't make a home, don't leave me here alone.

2. Yeah, we shine like stars in the summer night, we shine like stars in the winter night...

3. And all the promises we break, from the cradle to the grave, when all I want is you

4. So let it go, uh huh, in some FIIIIIIIIINAL way-ay-ay... I'm WIDE AWAKE, uh huh, I'm not sleeping.

5.. You know you're chewing bubblegum, you know what that is but you still want some (just kidding - I hate that line. In fact, I think it's the worst of the worst that Bono has ever written)

"I love you 'cause I understand, God has given me your hand
Holds me in a tiny fist, and still I need your kiss"

I don't have children, and don't even particularly want any at this stage of my life, but that "tiny fist" line gets me every single time.

There are a lot of them, but right now pretty much every line of Walk to the Water, but specifically:

Around her neck
She wore a silver necklace
'It was given to me by my father' she said
'It was given to me'

and now that I really look at those lyrics they don't look so good, but I have a silver necklace that my dad gave me and it's very special to me, I don't know.... I'm done now

Walk on walk on
What you got they can't steal it
No they can't even feel it.
Walk on

In a little while
In a little I'll come crawlin' home
Will you be there?

(I think it's something about his voice on that last one.)

Aww...that's the great thing about lyrics, they mean different things to different people. I think it's very touching.

My personal favorite is "Who's to say where the wind will take you"...thru "I know that this is not goodbye."

"I can lose myself, you I can't live without"
"I've crossed the world for green & gold, but it's your (Spanish) eyes that get me home"
"All the promises we break from the cradle to the grave and all I want is you"
"You can assemble them anywhere, in an apartment on Times Square. Hell to ransom, Hell to pay - a revolution every day."
"I want to be with you , be with you night and day..."
"I want you to know you don't need me anymore, you don't need anyone or anything at all"

There's plenty more. That's one of the reason's I've been a fan for over 20 years: they write so many words that move me.

Music lyrics are truly amazing, I really love that so many of these songs can mean so much to one person, and something different to another

Theres so many but ill name a few

Home, hard to know what it is if you've never had one
Home, I can't say where it is but I know I'm going home
That's where the hurt is

And I know it aches and your heart it breaks
And you can only take so much

Leave it behind
You've got to leave it behind

It's no secret that a conscience can sometimes be a pest
It's no secret ambition bites the nails of success
Every artist is a cannibal, every poet is a thief
All kill their inspiration and sing about their grief

And it's true we are immune
When fact is fiction and T.V. reality

All of Kite
All of City of Blinding Lights

Yeah

I think you mean 'and so to fade away-ay-ay' not 'in some FIIIIIIIINAL way-ay-ay'

I will not forsake, the colours that you bring, but the nights you filled with fireworks, they left you with nothing,
I'm still enchanted, by the light you brought to me, I still listen through your ears and through your eyes I can see

And if the, night runs over, And if, the day won't last
And if your way should falter, along that stony pass
(It's just a moment, this time will pass)

Johnny take a dive, with your sister in the rain
Let her talk about the things, you can't explain
To touch (chow), is to heal (chow) to hurt is (chow) to steal (ch-chucka chow) If you wanna kiss the sky, better learn how to kneel, on your knees boy
CHOW WAH (she's the wave)
CHOW WAH (like the turn of tide)
CHOW (She sees the man inside the chiiiiiiiiild, yeah)
CHOW It's alright, it's alright, it's alright
SHE MOVES, IN MSTERIOUS WAYS!!!

See the world, in green and blue,
See China right in front of you
See the canyons broken by cloud,
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out,
See the beduin fires at night,
See the oilfields at first light and
See the bird with the leaf in her mouth,
After the flood all the colours came out...
