As well it should. He contributed a lot of fantastic music and art and thoughts to this world, his contributions should be honored and admired. And thanks to his influence, we've seen many other talented people come along as a result, four Irish guys included.
Indeed we have!!! Plus, didn't Ringo Starr replied when asked which band was the closest to the Beatles, U2?!! 
Lennon only but paved the way for our four lads, which doesn't strip anything from anyone, but only makes that musical unit that is the Beatles and their contenders that much stronger!
