Bono and Edge performed Van diemens Land and Desire yesterday in the new O2 arena in Dublin. The venue is where Desire was filmed for Rattle and Hum, the arena has recently been revamped and is due to open in a few weeks time. Gerry Ryan from 2Fm (www. 2fm.ie) said it was filmed for RTE (www.rte .ie) in front of an empty arena and should go out soon probably on a program called 'The View'. Bono was interviewed, no word if anything was said about the new album, he did however pay tribute to the Great Irish singer Ronnie Drew who passed away recently.

!?!?

Its also been over twenty years since Rattle & Hum was released

Woah. It's been over 15 years since Van Diemen's Land was played live.

I eagerly await some audio of this.

Desire often appears in their tours, but Van Diemen's Land ? :eek:

I wonder if Edge did the vocals again...

Yeah, they should have left it that way. I love when the Edge does vocals, but a country song?! Come on guys. Country blows and U2 shouldn't even attempt to venture into that style. I hope they don't start playing it on the tour.

Are we sure this was in the O2 and not in some museum in Lichtenstein?

:hmm:

:eyebrow:

:wink:

van diemens land:heart::heart::heart:
i would love to see a popmart thing happen again, where edge gets a solo.

Honestly, am I really the only one who thinks that Van Diemen's land sounds like a country song? Maybe its the fact that when I hear the vocal start up I usually just turn the song off because it's so bad. Worst U2 song ever. Oh well, just my opinion.
