well I made my first venture into foundation, concealer and powder over the weekend. granted, it was really pricy (Bobbi Brown) but was going on a recommendation from one of my sisters. still getting the hang of putting the right amount of everything on. feel like such a non-girl with this stuff. I also stopped at Sephora and picked up the Urban Decay magic potion eyeshadow primer. It SO works for me. i can finally wear eyeshadow again.

Good tip re: the shadow primer - don't toss it when you think you've reached the end. Saw off the bottom and it fills up almost an entire small lip gloss pot. Fyi!

I should recommend that to a friend of mine.

I think the best eyeshadows are made by NARS. Just amazing, totally worth every penny.

What makes eyeshadow amazing? The color? How they go on? How long they last? I don't wear much in the form of eyeshadow

NARS has awesome eyeshadow. What makes any eyeshadow amazing is primer. Urban Decay has the best primer ever. End of story, don't look anywhere else. Potion rules.

To me, it's the colors and how long they last. If they don't crease and flake and come off easily, it's a good one. My fave brands for eyeshadows are Makeup Forever, MAC and good old Chanel. Christian Dior has amazing colors too!

To add, eyeshadow quads are great - they all complement each other. That way you know which color to put on the lids, the crease, the outer edges of the lids and the brow bones.

Shiseido has some decent quads.

I personally like eyeshadows that aren't tightly packed (which is why I dislike Lancome, for example, but love NARS).

^Eyeliner and lipstick is good enough. On a daily bases that is all I wear. However, if I don't but a little foundation/powder over my eyes the liner tends to wear off to soon. Also a little loose powder helps with the "oily shine" that can appear on your nose and forehead when you work under florescent lights.
