Local Time: 07:48 PM | 90s U2 fans Anyone out there really into the 90s U2 as well as the 80s! Most people I meet who say they are U2 fans always say the same ... that they didnt get it after JT/Rattle and Hum.... U2 became commercialised etc... Would be great to chat with people who did get it and thought U2 were best when they unleashed Zoo TV, Popmart and three brave and brilliant albums ) |

Local Time: 01:48 PM | Welcome. ![]() For the record, Interference (except for Axver) is generally loves the 90s. I'm not the only one here who strongly prefers the 90s to the 80s. |

Local Time: 02:48 PM | 80's-90's U2 is awesome! I love any era. At least one song from every era. I love me some Achtung Baby. Pop is ok. I mean some songs stand out amongst the others. I don't like "Miami" off that album. But anyway, we're here for 90's U2! ![]() |

Local Time: 07:48 PM | Bono said once I think that they werent trying to use any obvious trademark guitar sounds...and said that the spirit of the band would still come through...(and i got that totally, although I know alot of people didnt)... I think the 80s u2 (the music was brilliant but..) always seemed to be stuck in its own earnest bubble it created (the interviews of the 80s showed the bands true wit and irony)...and in the 90s, the music was I think a product of a band breakin through and being able to be themselves.... Achtung baby was awesome, zooropa had the confidence to be alternative in the height of grunge and dance and I see pop for what it strived to be (not what it unfortunately was because of tight deadline).... Also think bonos lyrics were much grittier in this era, larrys drumming was more varied, adam developed his bass skills and edge made his guitar sound like anything he could.... |
