Bastardised Regret

I needed to have one last dig against, well everyone…………

Later............

Tumultuous asphalt juntas
Cigarettes discarded,
Symbolic masculinity misconstrued
Signing fuck with a leper’s flair,
Five fingers forced down a willing throat
Mouthing off some stylised blasphemy,
“Anyone can be Charles Bukowski.”

Lack of poetic pretence
And dental hygiene
Breeds success,
Consideration concerns
Excess,
About as much as a desolate
Harlot prises her
Foetal virginity,

Temptation breeds isolation,
Love languishes lazily lounging
Round’ bastardised regret heeding
Grammatical nightmares,
Sentimental juries cease to be critical
Of our self righteous solace
Solstice, sonar experience,

Whose experience?
Your sixteen years of adolescent
Suburbia,
Your twenty five years of
Bourgeois buggery,
Bohemian Belfast realised recognition
With alarming precision,
That was nineteen sixty-nine,
Pray upon the religious subtext
Elation floatation across the nation,

“Selling souls a sixpence
Your heartache and your lies,
Benefit a blind man
Give him lying eyes,”

Oestrogen wrought oxygen
Parochial saviour
Sectarian bigot,
“Our daughter who art in heaven
Would you mind inquiring as to
Who your father is?”
Hold the narrative
Sycophantic hypocrites,
Blanket men remain crass
Generalisations of androgynous denial,
Commuters in aid of direction
Sober alcoholics subvert society,
Vladimir Lennon,
Working class hero
Wishful thinker,
Sparse detail,
Eloquent masturbation,
Heroic complexities,
In envy of the genuine article
Your universal truth,
My bastardised regret.

Cheers mate.

Although to be honest, seeing as I am now privy to the gloriously latent delights of mercurial hindsight, I can’t say that I’m a great fan of this piece. Nevertheless, I’ve always been quite a contrary bastard.

Thank you...
