Easier Member Name Search?

Is there a way to make searching through the "Members" section easier? When the first few pages are filled entirely with people whose names start with the number 1 or a symbol, and then you have pages like:

(most of whom have 0 or 1 post, btw), it pretty much makes searching through the list of members pointless.

I guess it makes it more worthwhile to sign up as a Premium Member so that you can search for exactly what you want....but if that's the case, then the "Members" search function may as well be deleted altogether, no?

Hmmm....I guess the "advanced search" does help some....but still not quite as easy as it could be.

I use advanced search when searching for members. I dont normally have a problem with it.
