So, what's a tab?

It says something about "tabs." What are they?

I have no musical knowledge; go slowly.

Tabs are notes for guitar or bass written in a way so that people who can't read notes are able to play the music nevertheless.

^^Like this.

Pretty easy to play tabs.

You know how paint by numbers works?

This is exactly the same.

There are 6 horizontal lines on the page representing the six guitar strings as follows:

E ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
B ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
G ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
D ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
A ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
E ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

On these lines numbers are written to tell you in what fret on the guitar fingerboard to play the note. The following is the guitar part for the first two bars of the second verse of pride:

E ------------------0--------------------------------------0---------------------
B --------------------------------------------------------------0----------------
G -----------------------8-----------------------------------------6-------------
D ------------9-------------9-----------------------7----------------7----------
A --------9--------------------------------------7-------------------------------
E ----7---------------------------------------5---------------------------------- I hope this helps you

Peace & Love
