Window On The Sky
So the chords I've seen for this one aren't quite right. Here's what I came up with. I think this gets the feel of the song pretty well.
Verse: I don't know the names of these chords but they're basically the bass note with the top of a G chord. 3x033 1xx033 or maybe xx3033 022033 x30033 022033 xx0233 x30033 G Am Chorus: G,D,Am G,D,Am G,D,C,Em,D Bridge F#m, B F#m, B, C You should be able to figure out the rest from there |

Could someone elaborate on the 6/8 Bono talks so much about?

I missed a 0 in that first chord. It should be 3x0033. Just a G chord.

The second number is the type of note (using 8th notes) so an 8th note counted 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 every measure or more simply: 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 every measure |

Thanks for the link but those chords are way off & the lyrics aren't correct either.
I fiddled around with it last night & came up with this: Verse: Em D C G Then Hangs on A or A7 before Going Into Chorus Chorus: G D Am (C D) I haven't played along with it yet to hear if it's correct so take these chords with a pinch of salt. |

The chords are really pissing me off - had to break out the MIDI sequencer and try some note combinations on piano....
Code:
G Bdim
The shackles are undone
Bdim Em
The bullets quit the gun
Em C
The heat thats in the sun
C Em
Will keep us when there's none
Em Bdim
The rule has been disproved
Bdim ?
The stone has been moved
? ?
The grain is now a groove
? Am
All debts are removed, ooh

Okay, I tried some stuff out, heres what i got.
Verse "Shackles are undone..." part: XX5X8X XX5X8X XX3X6X XX3X6X XX2X5X XX2X5X X3X5XX X3X5XX Maybe without the bass notes? Sounds good to me though. Second part of the verse - i have no idea what was cracking Chorus: These chords should be played arpeggio style 355433 X5777X 577555 355433 X5777X 577555 then this bit XX777X Verse - Same as previous Chorus - Same Then the bridge - after the XX777X bit, do this: 244222 X2444X 244222 X2444X X32010 followed by this solo that Edge plays: E --- B --- G --- D -----------5 3 2------2 A --- -----2--------5 3---5 3 2 5 3 2 E --- 3 5--------------------------------5 3 repeat again, then back to the chorus. Let the hammering commence! ![]() Last edited by beLIEve_ZOO121; 12-04-2006 at 03:30 AM.. |

This is just a basic chord version.
The chords themselves will likely end up variants, but you can play it this way, it doesn't sound bad. I'll try and come up with the actual chords if they are different from what has aready been posted? Just trying to add something.... For instance, the intro appears to be something like: G F9 E7sus C, that's a pain in the ass to decipher at this late hour. Anyhow, basic...... intro G-F-Em-C then sing G shackles are undone F bullets quit the gun Em heat that's in the sun C will keep us when there's none Em rule has been disproved D stone it has been moved C grain is now a groove G all debts are removed...... (into the pre-chorus) Am chorus G D Am G D Am G D Am C D second section of verses and chorus follow suit, then bridge: Fm Bmaj /ooh oooh C /please dont ever... solo: G F Em C G F C Am Bono sounding pitiful (same as chorus): G D Am G D Am G D Am C D the final verses are the same pattern as the chorus G D Am G D Am G D Am C D outro G-F-Em-C I'm going to hash out the melodics and shit and see if I can find variations on the basic premise of this song's chords.
