Yes, totally true-there was yellow caution tape around the front of pen 1. Another reason I didn't camp out and sat in a seat (I used two tickets, a GA and a seat): I did not want to be on the rail with children.

To reply briefly to some other posts, I will never stand by and watch that happen again. If a line starts two days early with 10% of the "list" actually in line, and I go there to get in line, I am numbering myself according to who is currently there. In this case it was 6 people for a 91 person list. Then, if others on the list show up in a reasonable time (for Hawaii, 2 hours is reasonable given traffic and distance), I'll respect their number, if not, get a new number. My point: line up when you want, a day, a week in advance, whatever, but you're obligation then is to STAY in line, not spend the day in the beach.

(Speaking of Boston in December--replying to another post--the joke was on them, because they all left the show to get in line for Boston 7 and missed encore number 3. What great fans!!!).

Quite frankly, I think the flagship crew comes from far too privileged a background. The sense of entitlement is obvious.

Speaking of leaving shows early, two women standing next to me (one of whom pushed her way in front of me from 3-4 rows back... THANKS!) left during With or Without You, presumably to beat traffic.

I will never understand how you could spend 12, 15, 24, 36 whatever hours waiting for a show, then leave before it's over to save an hour in the parking lot. Insane.

I remember two women leaving right around then mads, and I just moved a bit to the left into their spots. We must have been standing practically next to each other. And you still said nothing

We were! I'm sorry. Next tour I'll have to buy you a drink to make up for being antisocial.

That blonde was pushy. She kept knocking me off of that little ledge.

Well, I wasn't one of the "beutiful ones" to be cordoned off with caution tape....I was 2 "rows" away from it and it was funny. That area had huge gaps being saved for others.

It was hard to tell who was in charge, the line organizers or the paid security....grrrr. The head security guy pretty much turned it over to that first group of people, probably the ones with "the list" as they told him how it has been done and will be done. The security guard kept telling the area "you guys have done this before and know what to do" blah blah blah. Most of the people in that cordoned area came late in the day, all refreshed and beautiful looking, wondering amongst themselves who was going to be picked for the stage...ick! I loved the overnight GA experience, but didn't realize how much drama is involved UGH!!!!! Doubt I will do it again...my 2 cents

How the hell did they decide who got to be inside there? Just their friends? If I was the guy who just didn't quite make the cut off and had caution tape draped in front of me, I'd have likely choked someone with said tape.

And here I was wanting to spend a night with you in line next tour.

So you ended up using your seat tickets instead of your GA's?
Still hope you had a good time on Hawaii!

No, the "Flagship" is the loud-mouths from Boston who carry a bunch of flags and banners around with them.

And, regarding the taped off area - that was the venues idea so that when the line started moving in it would detract people from pushing their way to the front of the line.

The venue was overwhelmed with the GA thing, I think they were expecting it to get ugly, which of course it did not (other than the typical drama). However, U2 security did a great job of getting people into the stadium with very few issues.

ugh, just reading about this nonsense gets me so pissed off. Just wanted to chime in and say that "flagship" group is not *from* Boston, they're from all over the states, and europe - they just plotted their way onto stage at the first Boston show last December.

Amiee, this is Elissa's friend from Boston, glad to hear everything worked out at the show. I'll look for you on zootopia (though I'm not on there much either).

Yikes, that sounds like a disaster. Man, I knew this was going to happen - there are always selfish pricks at every concert that ruins the experience for everyone else. I was glad that I saw them in Japan - very organised, no bullshit like this. We showed up at 5pm for 6pm entrance and got in as planned with no hassle at all - and got right to the front GA to boot. Went in according to reference nos on the tickets, so no chance of queue jumping/saving places for people.

"plotted their way onto stage"???
nobody plots their way on to stage, thats ridiculous and you're stupid for thinking it's possible.

as for the flagship, i have no idea what the ones in Hawaii got up to so I won't even comment on that, but all that other stuff coming up about Boston is complete and utter shit.

we queued like everyone else, we saw the third encore (bfloxng, your'e talking crap) and we got as screwed as everyone else in the lineup on the second night with people vanishing in the night as we shivered in the snow and reappearing magically at 8am. (Elvis anyone??)

your "sense of entitlement" comment is bollocks, i and all the other flagshippers who queued in Boston worked damn hard and got damn cold for our spots in line. entitlement my arse

it sounds like a few people screwed things up in hawaii - whether that includes flagshippers or not i don't know - but regardless you guys seem to have taken it upon you to drag out and make up stories from past experiences and slander to death a group of people, 70% of whom weren't even in Hawaii?!?!?!

really, bitch about hawaii if that was a problem - by all means go for it but bitch specifically about the people involved and what they did there if you must.
making up stories and conspiracy theories about people and the things they did and didn't do at other concerts to try jusitfy your anger now is ignorant and childish and damn unfair on those of us who weren't involved and/or played everything by the book.
