During one performance, Bono stopped to yell at a trouble causing fan. He seemed in a pretty "negative" mood to me... if you want to hear it search for "bono gets mad/pissed" on whatever file sharing program you have (kazaa, morphius, limewire, etc).

I don't like Bono's voice. It's too thin. U2 is like the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The singers are the ones who get all the attention...and I think they're the weakest part of the band.
(Anthony Kaidus, or however you spell his last name, sings off-key too often. But the band behind him sounds great.)

The guy loves the sound of his own voice. I'm sure he is an ok guy, but i'd just wish he'd lighten up. I cant think of any "cause" he hasnt pushed in the last 21 years. I think the episode of the Simpsons with U2 in it was very closse to the truth. U2 saves the world, but try getting more than 3 words out of the other guys. And when are the Stones gonna be on a Simpsons episode? And why do they keep turning down the James Bond producers to do the title songs?

Mick, the new album is awesome. I would enjoy more keith leads, as "The Worst" is a great tune ( i know its kinda cheezy, but I like the simplicity and it is really easy to play.

He's socially conscious, there is a huge difference. Bono cares. And if there is one sure fire way of opening yourself to all sorts of idiotic attacks, it is to care. Bono has the type of courage and strength that his detractors couldn't muster on their best day. He hangs his ass out the window to be whitewashed by all sorts of dimwitted, do-nothing cynical cranks in the name of a greater good. He's simply a good man -- isn't it appalling the kind of vitriol that elicits? And I think that's part of what attracts Mick to him. Mick has always hidden behind the masks, even changes his accent. He's glib where Bono is blatantly sincere, Mick doesn't bleed where folks can see him, Bono does. But if you are for real and intelligent and committed, and Mick is, you find you can only keep up that facade full time for just so long. And I think Mick is intrigued by how Bono has maintained himself over a twenty year period and taken the full brunt of stupid abuse he has endured and still refuses to shield himself.

As for the music, Edge has played on Woody's solo album, Keef joined U2 onstage for the Smile Jamaica concert, and freely said how much he likes U2 in a Rolling Stone interview, now Bon is singing with Mick, they've been to one another's shows...as usual, the Stones know better than some of their fans.

I love Bono and U2. I don't always agree with Bono about all of his 'causes' but I think he's very knowledgeable - especially about music. When he inducted Bruce Springsteen into the R&R HOF I thought it was one of the best speeches ever. I also love the Red Hot Chili Peppers who were mentioned here also - but I think Flea is the best musician of the bunch - a great bass player.

I think it's hilarious that the first poster thought there were 5 guys in U2. It's kind of hard to take someone like that seriously. I love some of the Stones' music, like "Gimme Shelter" and "Jumpin' Jack Flash". Also, Mick and Bono are good friends. In fact, Mick and Ketih Richards helped him with "Silver and Gold". I wonder if those people know that? But like I said I don't give a damn what some of these people think of Bono or U2. It's my damn business what I think of whoever.
