I called them this morning and asked how much it was going to be. Now I can mail a check out tomorrow and be done with it. I knew it was going to be a little steep, but I'm happy it is under $200.00.

CONGRATS for The Who: my sis and I ( and various friends) have traveled to: Boston/ DC/ Philly ('70's) For Bruce & E St: we above ditto " " " " : Long Island/ Connecticut/ Philly ( mid-late 70's) because of the drop in my income bracket (mid '90's) I have never traveled to see U2. And I don't count New Jersey/Meadlands as Travel (altho it felt like a Major Undertaking b/c I was doing the GA long-day-into-night thing )-- b/c I've spent decades in Northern NJ with relatives! Long Island felt like Traveling b/c I hardly ever go out there!!!  SO yeah, I guess I could say I've "Traveled" to see U2- once-- when I was still middle class in 1987 for the JT Tour! We couldn't get tix for MSG!!! Sheeesh! locked out of our OWN Home Town !!!  | ||

 Ii had a different/similar experience with a well i don't know if it was considered somewhat of a rarity..... there was a song by The Byrds called "Lady Friend". Now BACK THEN- I didn't know that that was the title. I happen to to hear it on the radio when I had the capacity tape things off the radio with a fancy cassette tape deck back in the mid-late 70's - mid-late 80's......... and taped most of it. As somethings happens I didn't hear OR they didn't announce the song title! grumpy; I knew the first line of the first stanza and the last 2 lines of the chorus. I'd hum the tune and the lyrics to rock fans I'd meet through the years but nothing! No one cold tell me. I even bought 2 Byrds albums ( with the changes of personnel), and still didn't find it!!! So there i am in the offices of the very cool and "deceased" New York  Rocker Magazine! I'd occasionally did illustrations and once concert photography for them.They often had a radio or a turn table or cassette machine going. SUDDeNLY the song that was playing gets my attention! I practically "gasp" , and go half-running across their long 2nd floor loft shaped space--- from where I'd been speaking with the Art Director! It was THAT song!  SO I found out the tittle, it was a single, and while NOon any of the albums, I eventually foUND it in a record bin somewhere in ? The Village a year or so llater! | |
