Have you seen WALL-E yet?
You must see it!

Hey you!

I don't know if you're still here or not. I'm sorry to keep missing you too!

I'm glad y'all are enjoying the link, I'm such a space nerd. And the pics are so awesome..and perdy!

And yes! I did see Wall-E...with my boy. (we're planning on hitting Toys R Us this week to look at the lil model wall-E's ) It was so damn adorable, and visually, has to be one of Pixars best...it was gorgeous.
I take it you've seen it?

You can't go wrong with Pixar....it's made for kids, but is still fun for us big kids too.
Not to mention I got to torture my boy about going to see a disney movie.

And it was very well done, and not heavy handed on the enviromentalism message and stuff - well ok, it seems heavy handed, but it didn't detract from the other awesome aspects of the film....also, BnL was just an amusing named...
And it was hilarious, says something they could do a film with so little dialogue and still keep audiences captivated.

We're ridiculously adorable as a couple - one of *those* couples...holding hands and all that stuff.

Summer's been going pretty good. I've managed to see boy and my friends on a semi-regular basis despite living withing the iron curtain that is my parental units. Been going on bike rides, applied to be a TA (teaching assistant) at my uni but stupid grad students filled all the openings. (they get preference). It's such good money tho darn it, oh well, I might have an in with a prof for September...yay moola!
Also, I'm being a nerd and doing some reading ahead of time for a class or two I'm taking.

And yes! I've been def keeping an eye on the hype! Apparently the promo pics have been taken, people have apparently heard some of the new songs....an ever impending tour!

How have you been doing hun?
I saw you finished making a lil bag? Congrats!
How's some of your other projects going, are you still taking that class?

I dunno I think it's sorta 60% for kids and 40% for adults...I mean there's all kinds of stuff thAt only teenagerrs or adults will get. Maybe that %
varies some with each different film.....

considering how crucial things ARE getting about Our Earth a bit of "heavy-handedness" might go a long way. ANd it was so beautiful in its visual somberness

and Loved the Peter Gabrial tune during the credits....did you saty for the whole credits?

you can never leave before all the credits are done in a Pixar film!

I just mean that the story in and of itself is something that both younger kids and adults can enjoy, and there are certain aspects that cater to various audiences.
My boy commented that there were a ton of Apple references in the movie, I caught pretty much none of them, but he clearly enjoyed them.

I certainly agree, and the message was pretty clear, but if something is too heavy handed and focused on those sorts of messages, it tends to turn people off and only result in backlash....thus making the message less effective, mostly reaching those who were already partial/receptive to the message from the get go, and failing to reach those that need to become more informed.
here the imagery was ridiculously blatent, but by not making it the overwhelming focus, Wall-E's story was certainly what one focused on and was not detracted from by the enviromentalism...it just made it more effective I think.

I'm excited but b/c I have so little money right now that I can put towards even a single tix. I'm putting 20$ away from my ESC (stimulous check) and planning to put 5$ away every mnth at the least....I still owe my sis 225 for the U2 MSG ETS pakage from NOv 05 I'd been paying off some other stuff I owed her.
Then things got a bit in the first half of THIS year where-in I was so stressed out that I spent alot more $$ on take out food or fancier food than usual for a much longer time period. And in Feb/march IO had to but a lot of organizing cabinates, which ALSO took up a lot of my modest eatra $'s.

*thanks* on the L'il bag.

It's actually ongoing Sat Art studio (not a really formal class, unless people ask for special sort of "moduals" on diferent subjects....

then I go in during the week days for Independent Study (continuing working on same or different projects than Sat).
Oh, ZI'll BE there as many years as I want to be/they continue this program (ongoing for ? 11 -12 yerears now) It'll be 5 years in sept for me!

If we get cut off--at this cafe you have to pay in advance and my cut off of 2 hours is 5 mins away.
NOY my usual cafe.
