Sorry

I keep saying this because either everyone is having a life or on the superthread. I guess I wanted attention

I'm conflicted. My mom died yesterday and my reaction was embarrasing!

I barely remember her death (because I was tired and having a major headache due to the crying. I was only fully crying whenever one of the employees was over(I say this because we talked to the chaplain, a nurse and a social worker). Yea I was crying when it was just my father and I too.) and I feel bad

That's ok. I've kinda expected her death...but I wished I had spend more time with her (cause I only had a year and a half after her first near death to make amends)

Weldy You've all had such a rough go of it for the past several years, I'm so, so sorry, hon. Anything I can do? Do you feel like talking about it?

I just popped in for a minute before showering, and saw your news....man.

I don't know you REALLY well but it seems like you've spent lots of time with her this year and when you weren't with her, she was always on your mind. Whatever you do, don't beat yourself up. You were with her until the end and I'm sure she knows you care.

My mom died when I was 4 and I have absolutely no memory of her or the event. I don't know which is worse. Your situation or mine. I think I'd take mine.

You have good timing VP

I'm feeling pretty guilty for embarassing myself by crying on stranger's shoulders but at least my mom is at peace right now (I'm sure she's up in heaven ing me for not being so guilty )

Yea she looked like crap the last three hours we were with her (but I only have glimpses because I was drained and having a headache from crying so much) but at least we were there to say goodbye.

Awwww, you poor girl! Don't ever feel ashamed of any reaction you have to grief, all of it's very normal, and it needs to come out. Everyone has their own ways of coping, and crying in front of strangers is certainly nothing unusual, or nothing you should be concerned over. Just do whatever it is that you need to do to get through these first few days. And, we're all here for you. I know I might not be around as much these days, but if you need to vent, my PM box is always open.

How is your dad doing?

Hey Zuropa

Being there is important. Crying on 'strangers' shoulders is not. In their professions, I'm sure they're used to it. Cry all you need to. Here's my shoulder. *leans over*

back at ya VP!

Yea...but I can't help it but beat myself up. But as long as I have you guys to help remind me...I'll be ok And you are right...I did know that she care cause on Friday her last words to me was "I love you" and "bye" with a hand wave and when I told her that she was the best mom I ever had...she gave me a great big smile

I'm not offended. It sucks knowing that you have no memory of your mom...I guess I should be more grateful to know my mom

I've always wonder what life would be like if my mom died when I was younger or even if my mom had a more treatable diease (like my dad's diabetes) and wasn't so sick all the time.
