The Official 2006 NBA Playoffs Thread

I distinctly remember having a separate thread for the playoffs last year, so I thought I'd create one this year. If the mods feel like it's redundant or unneeded, they can merge this with the regular season thread.

PLAYOFFS TIP OFF TOMORROW AT 3PM!

Prediction Time:

EASTERN CONFERENCE FIRST ROUND

#1 Detroit over #8 Milwaukee in 4 Games
#4 Cleveland over #5 Washington in 5 Games
#3 New Jersey over #6 Indiana in 4 Games
#7 Chicago over #2 Miami in 7 Games

EASTERN CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS

#1 Detroit over #4 Cleveland in 6 Games
#7 Chicago over #3 New Jersey in 6-7 Games

EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS

#1 Detroit over #7 Chicago in 5 Games

WESTERN CONFERENCE FIRST ROUND

#1 San Antonio over #8 Sacramento in 5 Games
#4 Dallas over #5 Memphis in 6 Games
#6 Los Angeles Clippers over #3 Denver in 5 Games
#2 Phoenix over #7 Los Angeles Lakers in 5 Games

WESTERN CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS

#1 San Antonio over #4 Dallas in 7 Games
#2 Phoenix over #6 Los Angeles Clippers in 6 Games

WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS

#1 San Antonio over #2 Phoenix in 6 Games

NBA FINALS

#1 Detroit over #1 San Antonio in 6 Games

I hope I'm wrong about a lot of that. I wanted a Detroit/SA Finals last year, but I don't want it again. I want a faster-paced, more exciting Finals.

LeBron records a triple double in his first playoff game ever.

32 Points, 11 Rebounds, 11 Assists.

He is disgustingly good for his age.

If Tony Parker and San Antonio can keep their high level play up, Josh Howard will be on the golf course before you even know it.

i'd watch the nba playoffs but i'm too busy attempting to figure out how jim dolan has discussed ways to buy out larry brown yet has not discussed ways to fire isiah thomas. it's taken up all of my thought.

Josh Howard doesn't play golf. He plays raquetball with Tony Parker's testicles.

And Headahce, it's my understanding that the Knickerbockers don't have the rights to their first round pick. Is that a fact?

If so,

They traded it to my Bulls. And IT didn't put any conditions on it. It's likely gonna be Top 3 and and it's ours now.

My Bulls lost to the Heat in Game 1. Damn close though. I'm proud of them.

I think the Pacers could beat the Nets.

who will the Nets have to guard Jermaine O'Neal?

Nenad Kryssticisfdkgk?
Cliffy "he's still in the league?" Robinson?

LMP, with Orlando out, is your allegiance lying with the Heat for the playoffs?

eh...i could care less.

New Jersey is inconsistent and have no reliable bench players or big men.

Cleveland is just too inexperienced, and the supporting cast around LeBron isn't up to par yet, imo.

a Detroit-San Antonio finals again would make me eat my own foot, so I want the Heat to win the East by default.

(I'd really want to see a Heat-Mavs finals, now that would be great to watch. )
