Local Time: 06:20 AM | NIGHT MUSIC FOR WHEN THE NIGHT TAKES A DEEP BREATH I want to send a song out to a U2 friend who is feeling a little blue these days...Like when the night takes a deep breath, and the daylight has no air...it is during these times that we need some music for the dark night of the soul...some night music for you. NIGHT MUSIC/SIMPLE MINDS GOOD NEWS FROM THE NEXT WORLD Can you hear the lone night music Coming in so near When I hear the lone night music Every nightmare crumbles and they disappear Can you hear the echoes calling Speaking in verse When I hear the lone night music Everything gets stronger and I lose this curse Help me break the chains that hold me Keeping me from the truth I want to feel the hands that raise me From a low down level to the highest roof. Woh oh, night music I hear it now Night music I want to catch the rock that's falling Roll it back up hill When I hear the strange night music The whole world's turning and I'm standing still I feel it growing deep inside me Still I'm at a loss When I hear the strange night music It's a warning signal there's a bridge to cross Good news from the next world Tear yourself apart X still marks the time and place To cure your bitter heart Feel like running water Water of the soul Spinning like a spinning wheel Way beyond control Can you hear the lone night music Coming in so far When I hear the lone night music It's a lonely planet, it's a burning star I want to swim the widest ocean Diving in so deep When I hear the lone night music I can get so blue that I just can't sleep Sing to me oh night music Coming in so near When I hear the lone night music All my nightmares crumble And they disappear Well it's too late, tonight, to drag the past out into the light...we're one, but we're not the same, we get to carry each other, carry each other...One. I love you friend, and I'm here for you. Chris [This message has been edited by spanisheyes (edited 10-16-2001).] |

Local Time: 02:20 PM | I'm in a similar mood tonight, so i have this to offer: Nightswimming (Berry/Buck/Mills/Stipe) Nightswimming deserves a quiet night The photograph on the dashboard, taken years ago, Turned around backwards so the windshield shows Every streetlight reveals the picture in reverse Still, it's so much clearer I forgot my shirt at the water's edge The moon is low tonight Nightswimming deserves a quiet night I'm not sure all these people understand It's not like years ago, The fear of getting caught, Of recklessness and water They cannot see me naked These things, they go away, Replaced by everyday Nightswimming, remembering that night September's coming soon I'm pining for the moon And what if there were two Side by side in orbit Around the fairest sun? That bright, tight forever drum Could not describe nightswimming You, I thought I knew you You, I cannot judge You, I thought you knew me, This one laughing quietly underneath my breath Nightswimming The photograph reflects, Every streetlight a reminder Nightswimming deserves a quiet night, deserves a quiet night ------------------ when i first met you girl, you had fire in your soul. what happened your face of melting snow? |

Local Time: 11:20 AM | For Chris, What I would do without you? Obrigada, muito obrigada, I´ll keep your offer amigo. Don't worry, some days are better than others...now where have I heard that one? ![]() I woke up this morning with these verses from Always in mind... Be the arrow And the target Put your head over the parapet Be uncool Yes, be awkward And don't look in the obvious place The soul needs beauty for a soul mate Somehow they have a strong meaning, like a picture of myself these days. For grace, Nightswimming is a pearl. ![]() And last but not least, for The_Sweetest_Thing, spanisheyes is a he ![]() [This message has been edited by follower (edited 10-17-2001).] |

Local Time: 06:20 AM | Hey Scatteroflight...It is great to see another fan of the Simple Mind's "Good News From the Next World"...and I would have to agree with you that the whole album really rocks...and that the lyrics and music are brilliant. Is there any other albums of theirs you listen to and like? Chris |

Local Time: 02:20 PM | I have several of them, I don't listen to them a lot though. Sparkle in the Rain is great, the greatest hits is a good overview, and I have to admit I like Neapolis (which tanked) much more than Zooropa or Pop! Street Fighting Years has some amazing songs too. GNFTNW was actually the first record I bought by them. I fell in love with She's a River--largely because it sounded like old U2 to me...later I discovered that there were a lot of differences between them and U2, but I still like the resemblances too... ------------------ Love is the heartbeat of the universe |
