Comments: Bono dances on stage with a female fan during 'Angel of Harlem.' Gwen Stefani joins in singing 'What's Going On.' Before 'One,' Bono tells the crowd it's Dallas Schoo's birthday. Bono gives the mic to a fan who leads the crowd in singing 'Happy Birthday' to Edge's longtime guitar tech.

Happy Birthday Dallas!!!

Anyone else make it to Sacramento???

A GREAT show!! Not as good as the Oakland shows but maybe that's just my bias.

I got there late with a friend and had to hang back on the floor, so not as good a spot to begin with. The crowd was a bit more mellow before the show started but did get into it when the band hit the stage. They were loud but didn't sing along as much.

Bono's voice was a little rough but holding out, considering this was the third performance in a row.

Setlist was great, they added Mysterious Ways, and a full band Stand By Me after ISHFWILF which came off great. There was a short snippet of Norweigen Wood (that's Beatles for you young uns) before Wild Horses that was cute. Bono sang just about the entire POE. Too cool. I think I heard during Stuck "There's nothing in the world you can throw at me that I haven't already signed" (referring to the superbowl??) maybe I'm imagining that.

Bono announced Dallas' birthday and gave the mic to a fan toward the end of the show and he read a short statement about Dallas being the man who tunes 22 guitars for Edge, and we all sang an off key happy birthday. Dallas came out for a half minute, smiled and ran off.

During UTEOTW Bono brought a photographer up on the ramp and played with him a bit, posing with the Edge, and he stayed up there the whole song filming.

Bono danced with a girl during Angel of Harlem right on the tip, and I was pretty close here and could see his facial expressions. She did a great hip sway and got him going and he got this delighted look on his face. Then she reached back and pinched his butt, which he deflected, she tried again, he tried to tell her no, don't do that, it was a cute little tussle. When he let her back down into the audience he gave her a small peck on the lips.

Not too many Bono quips this time. The usual speeches about religious fanatics before Please (Which I thought was exceptional this time, very passionate and well done) and he several time alluded to not being in Sacramento for twenty years, although the band did play there for Joshua Tree, so not that long ago. He read the 116 psalm (I think, he was mumbling, but then said the last line loudly). He actually said at toward the end of the show "There's really nothing more to say.." (except thank you for a great life and may this be a prayer for peace in America and Europe and the Middle East and Africa.) I thought that was rare

.

All in all a fine show! U2 has just been so wonderful this tour, no where else can you find the sense of unity and love in the space of two hours. I have another beautiful experience to cherish. Thanks U2!

Hey, how was attendence at this show? I remember it being quite a way off from a sellout last week. Just curious...

It was a good show but I was in GC seats cause I drove up from LA that day (never as good for me if I'm not down on the floor but still a great show). I saw the girl that got pulled up in Sacramento -- she was at every show since Oakland 1 and she was always at the same spot holding the same sign. I think he finally got tired of seeing her and gave her a chance (ok, just a little jealous). I couldn't see his facial expressions but the way he moved her hand away from his ass made it seem like he was irritated by it...although, who can blame her? It would be really hard to avoid that temptation!

Thanks for the review Debbie!
I was thinking about Bono's voice last night, they played 3 shows in a row, in 3 different cities, it must be exhausting.
As much as it might be fun to grab/pinch Bono's butt, *I* think is disrespectful, I'd leave that to Ali.

Actually, this was a reference to a fan that had thrown something up for Bono to sign. He threw it right before Bono sang that part of the song, so it got a pretty big laugh from those who could see it. It even had Adam grinning for several minutes

Great review debbieSG! Atleast I got to hear about it

DebbieSG- I haven't seen elevatemysoul post since Oakland, do you know her e-mail? I wanna see if she has any Oakland pics!

Oh, yeh, I remember that. Do you know what he threw to him, and what Bono wrote on it?

U2SJ, email me and I'll send hers along: debgoldenberg@yahoo.com

It looked like a small notepad, but I couldn't really tell. Bono spent a lot of time writing on it, though. Wonder what he wrote ...

I also did a review in the Elevation section of this forum and yeah I have to say the concert was fabulos tho it did seem like Bono looked tired. A lot of people were laughing at the girl who was grabbing at Bono's ass and I thought Bono and Edge had a short talk about it hehe.. And damn was it me or did the concert turn out to be some gigantic karaoke bar? Everybody was screaming, singing and pogoing like mad! I do hope they come back to Sacramento again or at least have more dates for the bay area (Arco Arena is small! :O).

Oh yeah!? Anybody from this forum was waiting out in the back where the RV's were seeing if Bono would come out?

Danielle

Oh, I forgot! Bono did a magic trick

. Right at the tip of the heart, he took a small American flag, wiped his brow, then crumpled it up, blew onto it and *poof!* it disappeared!

Bono acting the clown. A hidden talent.
