More Europe dates in 2011, album out in late 2010

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

i'm sure the word 'suspects' will keep this thread going for a few more months

So is the mayor of Bucharest on drugs or are U2 heading off to Tunisia after Moncton to capture the creative zeitgeist or something?

What a way to close the greatest Rock show on earth - to (maybe, let's see ) let it fizzle out in a remote field on the edge of Canada after implying it would carry on with new material, and after encouraging people as recently as this month to renew their subscriptions for presales. Sad, sad, sad.

I can now understand why people wake up after 24 years and suddenly decide "I can't stay married to this person anymore". I've felt very close to U2 since 1987 but today it feels like they've gone off and cheated on me (with Spiderman?)!

They could still redeem themselves. They could announce one last hurrah for the 360 Tour - 3 nights at home in Dublin. Fanclub presales a plenty. After not making it at all clear that Moncton was to be the end of it this would be more equitable and would give Ireland a nice wee boost.

Well it is still not 100%-ly made clear that Moncton is the end.

Though I'd think if it was otherwise, Edge would know about it.

I guess they aren't told about a possible extension of the tour on a really short notice.

Or maybe he's not supposed to tell anything.

Well as I think this through, my guess is that they're still 'working' on the new album for even Heaven doesn't know what reason and they'll have something later. So the presale cosed can be used sometime in the future.

Or, the album is to be delayed (maybe it's title will have something to do with Dark as well? :) ) and maybe in the second half of this year or early next year there will be a stadium tour to support it? That tour won't be called 360° but they may use some parts of the stage again?

I think I've covered most of the possiblities :D

Eh, we can't be sure unless they make a statement anyway.

I don't really see what the point is of playing Glastonbury now, other than as a big special event. They don't appear to have a new album to promote, nor any UK dates.

Sad ...... It's not easy being a u2 fan, it's full of ups and downs!! Lol!!

I would like something a bit more concrete than 'probably' the end before I start making my plans for September, but I'm actually relieved.

In the heat of the moment (earlier) I'm sure I over-reacted to Edge's interview like a petulant child whose favourite toy had just been taken away.

Its only cos I care so much about this band after 24 years of being a fan.

On reflection I'm just really sad to think of the 360 tour coming to a close. I am not religious but am spiritual and truly felt the spirit at these shows. That the 360 church faces closure does pain me. Maybe we need a "save the church roof" fund!
