| just because someone can afford something doesn't mean they should afford something...
if paying for something stretches you thin where if the preverbial "shit happens" after you paid for the item puts you in deep shit, or paying for something sinks you into deeper debt than you can reasonably afford to pay, then you probably shouldn't do it, no matter how much you "want" to do it.
